Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games A winning bid is all about having the best vision and the best team. Throughout the race for 2014 we sought to build relationships with people and companies that understood our vision and wanted to be a part of our team. Designhive were one of those companies. They were innovative and exciting, yet always grounded in reality. Their input brought our plans to life. I am absolutely certain that they played a major part in our success. Rob Shorthouse, Head of PR and Media, Glasgow 2014 The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games will be the biggest multi-sports event that Scotland has ever hosted, bringing over 6,000 athletes and officials from 71 countries to the city to compete in 17 different sports in 13 venues over 11 days between 23 Jul and 3 Aug 2014. On the strength of Designhive’s involvement with London’s 2012 Olympic Games bid success, we were invited to support Glasgow in their bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games by creating yet another stunning portfolio of sports images. Working closely with the Glasgow 2014 Bid Team, project architects and Sport Scotland’s technical advisors, Designhive created 21 vibrant and technically-accurate photomontages along with two animations for different stages of the bid process. With Glasgow’s heritage of outstanding sports facilities coupled with the prospect of many exciting new build projects, Designhive was tasked with bringing these venues to life; illustrating top class sporting events buzzing with flag-bearing crowds. The 2014 branding was applied to the dynamic photography and 3D renders to generate inspiring and credible imagery that proved to the Commonwealth Games Federation that Glasgow was without doubt the strongest contender. |
